Class Prep Road Trip

By August 6, 2015 Blog No Comments

801 Fly Fishing needed a getaway to clear our minds before the Heber Valley Fly Fishing Festival in Heber City. We took a much needed road trip to Wyoming to throw some streamers on one of our favorite rivers. We nymphed the first little while and caught some healthy rainbows. We got greedy as we always do and tied streamers on the new Allen Heritage 6 wt. and Kraken reels and got into some awesome fish out of a very small river. With streamers on “smaller” water we focused on our zones and hit them hard and it really paid off! The Barely Legal was the fly and we moved fish all afternoon and evening. When streamer fishing with a friend who is nymphing, we always let the streamer lead the way to cover the trophy fish and our nympher will follow the streamer to pick up the less interested fish in the bigger zones of the run.
